LIMA, OH (WLIO) -Â It was "The Father's Day Weekend Fishing Derby" over at Faurot Park Saturday morning.
In honor of celebrating family and all fathers out there, the Neighborhood Relief Thrift Store and the West Christian Chamber of Commerce teamed up to sponsor the fishing derby competition. No fishing experience or license was needed, as all ages were welcome to participate, as well as lessons on learning how to fish. Those in attendance were provided fishing gear and taco lunches provided by the LoveWhosoever organization for all to enjoy.
"It's good to see that family working together to continue the parenthood and leadership abilities of the fathers, teaching the kids what to do and how to enjoy life. You get out in this atmosphere with the help of the Neighborhood Relief and West Ohio Christian community to come together and have a great time and to be able to see that there are a lot of good things going on in Lima, Ohio," added Randal Kohli, City of Lima Utility Security Officer.
Many contributors came together to make this event happen, as many walked away smiling while gaining a memorable experience with their dads.
