Allen County Sheriff Sam Crish faces a couple of new lawsuits. Lima attorney Robert Fitzgerald filed two civil suits on behalf of his clients against Crish on Thursday.
David Hefner, Sr. and Greg Schiffler filed the suits. It is not known if these lawsuits are related to Crish's admitted gambling problem. A lawsuit filed by former Lima councilman Ray Magnus is currently pending. Magnus is suing for $102,000 that he said he loaned Crish, plus $25,000 in punitive damages. The sheriff's office was raided by the FBI on September 7th. The FBI has not commented on the status of that investigation. Crish entered rehab for his gambling addiction shortly after that raid. He had been back to work while continuing to receive treatment. We expect more information to come out on Friday.
