New RTA bus dedicated to employees who served

If you are out driving around the Lima area, you may see a colorful bus making the rounds. That's because the Lima-Allen County Regional Transit Authority has a new fixed route bus in its fleet.

It is covered with an American flag red, white, and blue theme to honor RTA's six employees who have served the country. The bus was purchased entirely through an Ohio Transit Preservation Partnership Program grant. The patriotic bus replaced an older 1998 bus that was past its prime and mileage count. It's something officials say is going to go a long way.

"It shows that RTA does appreciate our employees and we do appreciate even more our employees that have served our country. So we just, this is just a small something that we can do for them to show our appreciation. We have great, all 45 of our employees are great employees, but it's just a bonus to know that we have half a dozen employees that did serve our country and they are very respectful of the flag and they are very moved that we dedicated this bus to them," commented Allen County RTA Executive Director, Sheila Haney.

The bus will be out and about each day on different routes just like the other buses.
