COLUMBUS, Ohio (WLIO) — Ohio’s minimum wage increases to $11 an hour on Jan. 1.

The wage for non-tipped employees working at companies with annual gross receipts exceeding $405,999 increased by 30 cents compared with 2025. For tipped employees, the minimum wage rises from $5.35 to $5.50 an hour starting in January.

The increase is tied to a constitutional amendment approved nearly 20 years ago that requires Ohio’s minimum wage to adjust annually based on the rate of inflation. Employees working for smaller companies with annual gross receipts of less than $405,000 will continue to earn the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour.
