COLUMBUS, Ohio (WLIO) – Ohio’s minimum wage will rise again at the start of the new year.
The wage for non-tipped employees at companies with annual gross receipts over $405,000 will increase by 30 cents to $11 an hour. For tipped workers, the minimum wage will go from $5.35 to $5.50 an hour beginning Jan. 1, 2026.
The increase stems from a constitutional amendment passed in 2006, which ties Ohio’s minimum wage to the rate of inflation. Employees at smaller companies with annual gross receipts of less than $405,000 will remain at the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour.
