Although the Ohio Senate is currently not in session, they are looking ahead to pending legislation. One particular item that will be discussed will be the Criminal Justice Reform Bill that Huffman and his team have been working on for nearly 2 years. According to Huffman, the path of redemption for previously convicted individuals is currently blocked, and he and his team have a vision on what life could like once this block has been eliminated.

"For those who want a path to redemption, which are blocked right now, we want those folks to be able to get jobs, pay taxes, feed their family, take care of themselves because there is a lot of, what we call, collateral sanctions which means if you commit a certain crime, you're prohibited from getting a license or working," says Matt Huffman, Ohio Senate President.

The Ohio Senate will resume sessions on November 15th.
