Both now join an exclusive group forever part of the program's history.

"I'm very humble by that. There have been people here before me as distinguished alumni, and to be able to join that group is just a true honor and a true pleasure. The professors that I had, the friends that I made, the people I met, and the experiences that I had all laid the foundation for what I was going to do to become a teacher in the Lima City Schools then for 37 years. I just love working with people and kids," told Hochstetler.
Altenburger added, "When I worked and was a student at the university, I worked for Sergeant Tony Swygart. He is a great law enforcement professional, and I was able to work under him and learn so many great things that really set me up for my future and law enforcement now in Central Ohio."
Nominations for alumni awards are accepted throughout the year. You can visit their website for more information.
