LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Youth from all over Ohio joined to participate in the Ohio 4-H Shooting Sports competition.

The Ohio 4-H Shooting Sports program aims to bring youth together for the purpose of discipline, safety skills, and leadership. This program allows youth to not only learn gun safety but compete in different competitions to qualify for the Ohio national team. This team travels to the 4-H national championship in Grand Island, Nebraska, giving each participant motivation to win in the Lima match.

"4-H is, we are not a shooting program, we are not a livestock program, we are a youth development program. Shooting sports is just the hook we use to draw them in," says Chris Henderson, match director for Ohio 4-H Shooting Sports.

By learning a sport while building real life development skills, the Ohio 4-H Shooting Sports program continues to help youth reach their full potential.
