One of the men accused of in the murder of Damere Oliphant takes a plea

One of the three men charged in the murder of Damere Oliphant has taken a plea deal.

21-year-old Collin Dysert has pleaded guilty to one count of kidnapping and one count of involuntary manslaughter with a gun specification. As part of the deal, the trafficking drugs and murder charges were dropped. Dysert will be sentenced on March 5th. Dysert, along with 20-year-old Gavin Lauck and 20-year-old Dalton Duncan were arrested in the death of Oliphant.

On March 27, 2017, Oliphant was found shot to death on the steps of the former Taco Bell at the corner of Shawnee Road and Cam Court. The three men were arrested later that day in a nearby apartment. The cases against Lauck and Duncan are currently ongoing in Allen County Common Pleas Court.
