Otterbein Cridersville residents enjoying total solar eclipse

CRIDERSVILLE, OH (WLIO) - Residents at Otterbein Cridersville were enjoying the eclipse on Monday. Events from crafts and painting to crosswords were put on for the residents to enjoy up to the moment of totality, where everyone gathered outside with their glasses to check out the view.

Everyone, from the seniors to the staff, was amazed by what they saw.

"I thought it was very interesting; I think the residents really enjoyed it, and it was just a fun afternoon for everyone," said Linda Lee, a resident of Otterbein.

"They were amazed—I think some of them even were at the loss for words, and I know I was myself," said Camille Garbash, Independent Living Lifestyle Coordinator for Otterbein Cridersville SeniorLife Community. "It was amazing event; the residents could not wait to come out here and take a look at this once-in-a-lifetime total eclipse."

The residents have also been taking day trips to Wapakoneta to check out the Armstrong Air and Space Museum before Monday's eclipse.
