A human trafficking investigation that started in Vandalia near Dayton, leads to the arrest of two restaurant owners in Celina.
46-year-old Kang Yong Chen and 45-year-old Mei Yu Zheng, both from Celina are facing charges of records tampering.
The owners of the China Wok Buffet restaurant located at 1401 E Market Street were arrested after an investigation which began over a year ago by the Ohio Investigative Unit into potential human trafficking activities in Vandalia.
Investigators say they saw a driver pick up a woman from that location and take her to a home in Celina owned by Chen and Zheng. As investigators looked more closely at the restaurant, they noticed that the documents filed with the State of Ohio listed few employees that were seen working in the restaurant.
The pair was arrested this week and they will have a hearing on the charges in October.
