The new Putnam County commissioner has some plans for the county.
Putnam County Commissioner, Michael Lammers has only been in office for a month now, but he's already looking into the next few years. Lammers says his number one priority is and will be, to keep track of taxpayer dollars. He says the county has a budget and he wants to make sure it is spent well. Another project Lammers will be taking on is working on the economic development of Putnam County and finding a way to fill all the current job openings.
"We don't deal with it directly here but obviously we would like to see economic development continue in this area. We're predominately Ag but also manufacturing, given statistics on how great our schools are, how great this community is, and hopefully I can help maintain that," said Lammers.
Lammers says he's fairly new to the job but he definitely enjoys it.
