Plea change in murder investigation

A woman charged with obstructing justice in the murder of Vera Jo Reigle, changed her plea in court today.  Shannon Brooks, along with three other family members living in a home with Reigle, was charged with the third degree felony for hindering the police during their investigation.

Brooks makes the fourth member to change her plea from not guilty to guilty.   She could face up to three years in prison, after the state changes the rules on maximum sentences in September.

The prosecutor is asking she be sentenced to community control, as long as she cooperates with the murder investigation.  Shannon Brooks starts her pre-sentencing investigation today and her sentencing hearing will be held on October 28.
