Portman, Strickland enter first debate for U.S. Senate

The two candidates vying for the U.S. Senate seat in Ohio faced off Friday in Toledo. During the debate, Republican U.S. Senator Rob Portman said the video of Donald Trump talking about groping women was the "last straw" and why he pulled his endorsement. Portman says it was a difficult decision because he wants to stand behind his party.

Former Ohio governor Ted Strickland called Portman's decision "cowardice" given other comments Trump has already made. Senator Portman emphasized his work to stop human trafficking, fight the heroin epidemic and aid steel workers while in office. The two also discussed their opponents track record with jobs and the economy.

Make sure to tune in to ABC Lima on Thursday, October 20th at 7 p.m. where we will be hosting a live one hour special for the third debate between the two candidates.
