LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The City of Lima has completed its renovations to the lobby and the second floor of the municipal building.
The three city departments will be open for visitors starting Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
The $900,000 construction project began back in July. The lobby has a new welcome center to greet visitors and a seating area complete with a display case with the items Lima has received from their sister city, Harima-cho, Japan.
The second floor was much more involved, as they created new office spaces for three departments and a lobby area complete with customer service windows to make it easier to help out residents.
The Municipal Building is located at 50 Town Square in Lima, Ohio.
"The last major renovations we had was back in 2006, and on the second floor, we have the public works department, building departments, and housing and neighborhoods. If you came and visited us before, you would have go to three separate locations on the second floor to visit each department. So, with the renovations, we were able to consolidate that. So there is just one major main lobby now that you can go to and get information from all three departments of the city," says Ian Kohli, Lima City Engineer.
