Richey parole request

Kenneth Richey in the news again as he is requesting to leave the states and go overseas.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, the former death row inmate says he wants to go to Great Britain to see his dying mother and get married to his girlfriend in Scotland. But Richey still has nine months left on his parole before he will be allowed to leave the United States. He was placed on parole after serving a three year sentence for threatening a judge, a crime he committed after he got off death row in 2008. Richey's 71-year-old mother has lung cancer and suffers from severe dementia. The adult parole authority hasn't ruled yet but is taking into account the fact Richey has violated his parole before when he was allowed to leave the country.

Richey was convicted in 1987 of aggravated murder and sentenced to death for a 1986 apartment fire that killed 3-year-old Cynthia Collins of Columbus Grove.
