Making positive choices in your life is sometimes hard for adults, let alone a child, but Positive Addiction Week in the Lima Catholic Schools is geared to the kids and making those positive choices.
Students at St. Charles Elementary School took part in a Fun Run today(5/3/16). The kids weren't competing to see who won, but to see that getting active is a positive choice they can make in life. School officials say it's important to include these younger students in the week's activities as these are their formative years.
"Our main goal is to make students understand that there are a lot of choices out there and we want to give them as many good choices as possible. So it's not just about running, it's about all activities that are better choices to keep them healthy, to make them have a life that is prosperous," said Principal Jane Dornick.
Dornick says they look at the positive in each child and help nurture them as they grow older.
