It may not be what society considers to be a home but some who choose this lifestyle do so for a reason. Our Holly Geaman has more.

"The folks you run into in the street at night are just very gracious people, they'll give away everything they have to help another homeless person out," said Russ Thomas, checks on homeless.

Cindy had a traditional home but her living arrangements changed due to unforeseen circumstances and she found herself living in her car. She decided that was OK for her and sees her situation as a chance to help others and has ministered to several young adults. Cindy says her homelessness has been a calling and she will know when to make a change.

"I'll know when it's time for me to leave here, I'll know, you know God will tell me, he'll let me know when my time is up here," said Cindy.

James decided to live on his own away from society after serving his nation. He has spent 44 years off the grid and will lend a hand to anyone who finds themselves without a traditional home.

"Come on in here and stuff, spend the night, we'll cook you something to eat, and I got two more sleeping bags here that I would give and stuff, you know I mean clean pair of socks, can't give up my long johns," said James.

Thomas says that the truly homeless will help each other without question. Their lifestyle shows that by how they move around.

"Typically they leave what they don't need and the next guy comes along and moves in and just starts using the things that were left, they are very generous to each other," said Russ Thomas.
