LIMA, OH (WLIO) - In collaboration with the Lego Company and FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) program, the Lima Family YMCA kicked off their 13th year of Lego League Jr.
The hour-long sessions allow for kids ages 6 through 9 to develop their critical thinking and imagination while learning problem-solving skills through real-world challenges.
Despite the league not participating in team competitions throughout the year, the league does give kids the opportunity to engage in STEM activities, on top of working and collaborating with others.

"I have seen this program that we have to offer here impact ages from 6 to 12 in a very positive way. I can tell that every week they continue to get more creative and more excited about the challenges we have to offer here, and just excited to engage in any activity here as well," told Brianna Keeler, Youth & Teen Development Director.
