LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A local agency has hit a milestone with one of its major fundraisers and is hopeful to put up the "Sold Out" sign again this year.
It's the 25th annual Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities Chicken Barbeque and tickets are still available. The proceeds go to their special donations fund and the Marimor Legacy Foundation. Organizers say that the surrounding community has been supportive of the event through the years and while it's a lot of work it's worth it.
"Oh, this chicken barbeque, it's kind of taken on a life of its own a little bit. Twenty-five years of doing this has been amazing but it really has been a great way for the community to kind of come out to us and see a little bit about where we are and hear about what we do. Every dinner gets a label on the top that talks about programs that we provide to folks in Allen County that have developmental disabilities," said Annie Dunbar, intake support services coordinator.
It's suggested to get your tickets in advance by calling 419-221-1385. You will get barbeque chicken plus all the fixings for a $12 donation. It's a drive-thru only at the facility on Ada Road from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 5th.
