A trial began Monday for an Arlington man who is accused of shooting at a Hancock County deputy in 2020.
52-year-old Ronald Dean Lauck had his case heard by a judge after he waived his right to a jury trial. Lauck was indicted on the charges of felonious assault and intimidation, both with gun specifications.
According to court records and law enforcement, Lauck fired a shotgun at a Hancock County deputy, who was responding to a domestic violence call involving his son. Gunfire was exchanged before law enforcement was able to arrest Lauck. No one was injured in the incident. The trial is expected to wrap up on Tuesday.
