Two Lima men arrested during undercover drug bust

An undercover drug buy in Wapakoneta lands two Lima men in jail with large bonds.

26 year old Travarus Thompson and 41 year old Shannon Scott, both of Lima, were arrested following the drug bust on Thursday. Auglaize County Sheriff's Detectives say a substantial amount of crack cocaine was bought during the bust. In total more than 100 grams of drugs were seized with a street value of five thousand dollars. The men are being held on one million dollar bonds, but they can be released if they post 10 percent.

The drug buy evolved from information received during an Ohio State Highway Patrol enforcement effort called 'Operation Shield' that took place on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. The Wapakoneta post teamed up with several other law enforcement agencies in Mercer and Auglaize County on the traffic safety and criminal sting.

During the two day initiative, officers made 418 traffic stops with about half leading to arrests. Prescription pills, crack cocaine, marijuana, and cash were seized.
