Two more names are now in the running for Ward seats in Lima.
With Wednesday being the last day for candidates to file their petitions, Jamie Dixon filed his name to run for the Fifth Ward seat against current seat holder Teresa Adams, and Jonathan Neeper filed for Seventh Ward seat to run against current seat holder Ann Miles. Both candidates say that Lima needs to make some changes, and Dixon says that the time to do that is now.
"I feel that if Lima is going to try to elevate, then now is the time that we strap up by the bootstraps, we hit the streets, and we start campaigning for a better neighborhood," Dixon said. "If we want the resources, the finances, the money to come back into our neighborhoods, then now is the time."
Johnathan Neeper says that his history with Lima will help him with the Seventh Ward.
"I've lived in the 7th Ward almost my entire life - other than when I left for school - and I have a firm grasp of where things are; I was born and raised here, I Know the city, and things that need to be changed," Neeper said.
Every Ward that will be on the ballot is being contested.
