LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center in Lima is holding a fundraiser event to keep their facility thriving.
At the Swing Rite Golf Center, players in teams of 4, could register to play 4 different kinds of golf games. With the uncertain weather, the swing rite golf center holds an indoor golfing facility as well. This is the foundations 6th annual golf outing, and the course was PGA National. By having the course on TVs throughout the room, players felt like they were right there with the golf leagues. Not only was there golfing, but drinks, food, and a silent auction for different gift baskets.
"It's a fundraiser for the Civic Center foundation that helps to sustain the Civic Center and bring entertainment to town, and just really helps with all of our needs," says Carmen Cecala-Wells, Director of Development at the Civic Center.
By making funds through donations, team signups, and auctions, the Civic Center foundation is setting a goal for 10 thousand dollars total from this fundraiser. This event takes place Friday (Feb. 27) and Saturday (Feb. 28), marking the end of February. For more fundraisers and events for the Civic Center, check out their website.
