St. Rita's Medical Center and the Lima Mall are stepping up to the plate with an innovative way to get healthy.
They officially launched a new walking program called "Healthy Steppers" Friday with a sign-up period and some special gifts for those on hand.
New mile markers will go up around the mall to help walkers track distance and St. Rita's will host health-related events and screenings for walkers throughout the year.
Those getting involved in the program say it just makes sense to walk with others who also have a goal of staying healthy.
Those interested in signing up for the program can register online at www.limamall.com or by stopping by the guest services booth at the mall.
The Lima Mall opens its doors for walkers at 8:00 AM Monday through Saturday and at 11:00 AM on Sundays.
