In the Village of Gilboa, a new War Memorial stands to honor 463 veterans that served in wars from Revolutionary to the Persian Gulf.
The War Memorial took over a year to plan, research and build. Each name was researched and place on a monument that corresponds with the war they served in. The Veterans either had to be born and raised in Blanchard Township or moved in and lived there.
The Memorial is for the community and organizers hope residents come out to check out the names of family and friends that served. And they say there is still room to add more names, if there was a name of a veteran that is missing contact the Harter-William American Legion Post.
