LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Maple Syrup Festival at McLean Teddy Bear Park has been postponed due to the weather forecast for Saturday.

Officials with the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District say the decision was made because of the potential for storms and wind gusts that could reach up to 40 mph, which could interfere with the outdoor event. The festival will now take place Sunday, March 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at McLean Teddy Bear Park.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of maple-themed treats, including maple cotton candy, maple candies, maple syrup and other maple-inspired foods. The festival will also feature educational demonstrations showing how maple syrup is harvested and produced. Park officials encourage families to come out Sunday to enjoy the sweet celebration and learn more about the maple syrup-making process.
