The "Spartan Give" is continuing as Lima City Schools students head to the West Ohio Food Bank.
Students from Unity and Liberty Arts Magnet School got a quick tour and heard about what the food bank provides for people in their 11 county service area. Then it was straight to work as they got to assemble food boxes to help those in need. Organizers say they do see a difference in the students after they do a service project.
Liberty school resource officer Paula Strickler adds, “Absolutely, they realize what’s out there in the community, being able to help others in the community as well.”
The school resource officers have been organizing community service projects through their "Public Schools Week" celebration.
