ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Hundreds of people get the chance to learn about area resources that can give them a helping hand.

It was the big resource fair put on by the West Ohio Food Bank at the Allen County Fairgrounds. Dozens of local agencies and organizations were on hand with information about what they could offer those in attendance. They spoke with financial institutions, medical services, literacy support, and family programs, among others, with many making an impact on individuals.
"To have them know that you are important, you are somebody. There are people that care. I definitely want to give a big thanks for that because there is not a lot of that going on in Lima, Ohio. The fact that you all do this, we definitely appreciate it; my daughter appreciate it, my family appreciate it. I'm sure everyone here appreciate it as well," said Keiwaun Lasenby, Touched by Kinship Care program.

"We offer our services totally free of charge to any Lima residents, 18 years or older, that have not received their high school diploma that are looking for a second chance, looking to come back," said Laura Ball, Lima City Schools ASPIRE program.
"I try to go to all of the events and get all the resources that I can get to survive. The older we get, we can't work and they're there to help, and they do a tremendous job. I appreciate them," said Dayna Fisher, who attends many resource fairs.

"Feel blessed because they do this. We would struggle with not having meals and food, laundry detergents. They have been thankful for all of the suppliers that donate. It's wonderful and I want to thank them very much," said Paula Beiderman, thankful for the West Ohio Food Bank.
Everyone got a free lunch and then drove through the West Ohio Food Bank food distribution.
