Ottawa-Glandorf advances with 7-1 win over Liberty-Benton in ACME district play
LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Ottawa-Glandorf is moving on in the ACME District 5 Tournament after a strong all-around performance against Liberty-Benton, earning a 7-1 victory at Bath High School.
The Eagles found themselves trailing by three runs in the fourth inning when Kooper Leatherman put a ball in play to shortstop. A throwing error allowed Connor Barbara to score, cutting O-G's lead to 3-1.
But the Titans responded behind a dominant outing from pitcher Will Siefker. The right-hander struck out seven batters over four innings while allowing just one hit.
Ottawa-Glandorf added to its lead in the fifth inning. Mason Trombley delivered an RBI single to left field, bringing home James Niese and extending the advantage to 4-1.
Later in the inning, the Titans continued to add on as Haiden Aldrich scored on a wild pitch, giving O-G a 7-1 lead.
Landon Pester entered in relief in the sixth inning and helped close things out with a strikeout.
Ottawa-Glandorf advances with the 7-1 win and will face Elida on Wednesday, July 1st at 6 p.m. back at Bath High School.
