Slick roads are causing a lot of accidents in the area. Two people were taken to the hospital after a crash between an SUV and a semi on State Route 65 just north of Cairo around 3 p.m. The semi lost control on the ice and struck the SUV. The driver and the passenger in the SUV had to be extricated.

A two-vehicle crash occurred on U.S. 30 Wednesday morning between a semi and an electric vehicle. Around 9:25 this morning, a semi-truck traveling eastbound in the left lane on U.S. 30 was struck by a car entering U.S. 30 East from the north. The car failed to stop before merging onto 30 East, and the truck clipped the back end of the car and then flipped on its side and slid into the median.

December 17, 2024, Press Release from the Hancock County Sheriff's Office: On Tuesday, December 17th, 2024, at about 7:55 a.m., the Hancock County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle injury accident at the intersection of TR 236 and CR 109 in Cass Township. Thomas Metzger, 62 years old, of Whitehouse, OH, was traveling southbound on TR 236 in a 2002 Buick LaSabre. Mr. Metzger came to a stop sign at CR 109 and proceeded to enter the intersection. Sarah Lewis, 42 years old, of Arcadia, OH, was driving westbound on CR 109 in a 202 Subaru and struck Mr. Metzger on the driver's side door.

Lima fire and police departments responded to a two-vehicle crash just before noon on Monday. Two people were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries in the accident that occurred around 11:30 this morning. A truck was heading west on Spring Street when it failed to stop at the stop sign and struck the SUV at the intersection of Spring and Union Street.
