Several local employers are standing up and employing individuals that others may pass on because of a disability. Jim Polutnik has worked for Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home for nearly a year doing data entry. David Huckeriede says they've had to make some changes to assist Polutnik in doing the computer entry and is happy with the work he does. October is National Disabilities Employment Awareness Month and the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities is recognizing those who have given their clients, 121 of them, a chance in the workforce.
