June 18, 2024, Press Release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Northern District of Ohio: The Justice Department today announced that it has filed statements of interest in federal courts in Ohio and Alabama to promote the correct and uniform interpretation of voting laws guarding the rights of voters with disabilities. The statements of interest are part of the Justice Department’s continuing nationwide efforts to ensure that the voting rights of all individuals, including people with disabilities, are protected.

June 4, 2024, Press Release from the Hancock Historical Museum: The Hancock Historical Museum is featuring an exclusive film screening of "The Lincoln School Story" at 12 p.m. Thursday, June 6 as a special part of the organization's monthly Brown Bag Lecture series. This new documentary film tells the inspiring story of a group of courageous African American mothers who fought for school integration in 1954 in the town of Hillsboro, Ohio. Produced by award-winning filmmaker Andrea Torrice, The Lincoln School Story is the first documentary to feature these women and highlight their role in the early civil rights movement. Introducing the film and finishing with a Q&A, will be Melvin Barnes with Ohio Humanities.
