Two Texas men suspected by law enforcement of human trafficking who traveled to central Ohio with four victims, including one juvenile, have been apprehended by the Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced today.

August 29, 2024, Press Release from the Southern District of Ohio United States Marshals Service: Columbus, Ohio – The U.S. Marshals arrested fugitive Jaquez Hoover this morning in Columbus. Jaquez Hoover was wanted by the Columbus Division of Police for two counts of Murder. Hoover was charged with Murder in Franklin County Municipal Court after an investigation by the Columbus Division of Police Homicide Unit. Hoover allegedly shot and killed Desmond Taylor and Ceilin Richard Peakes Smith at a Columbus nightclub on June 14, 2024. After adopting the fugitive investigation, the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) located and safely arrested Hoover this morning in the 4000 block of Glengate Dr. in Columbus.
