October 29, 2024, Press Release from the Lima Symphony Orchestra: Lima, OH (October 29, 2024) – The Lima Symphony Orchestra is excited to announce its latest "Symphony Storytime" program, "Tails and Tunes," presented at Auglaize County Public District Library System and St. Mary’s Community Public Library. This engaging, animal-themed program invites children and families to experience literature and music in a unique, immersive setting. By combining beloved children's books with live orchestral music, the Lima Symphony Orchestra aims to inspire young imaginations and foster a lifelong appreciation for music and storytelling.

Downtown Lima was all a buzz as thousands of students converged on the Veteran's Memorial Civic Center. It was the annual Young People's Concert performed by the Lima Symphony Orchestra. More than 3,000 students attended the event, where it was the first time some of them had ever heard an orchestra. Schools from around the region have made this an annual event for their kids. Guest conductor Karl Hirzer says it's important to introduce students to a variety of music at this age.
