52-year-old Darrell Bivens was indicted by the Allen County Grand Jury on the charges of aggravated arson and felonious assault. The incident happened around October 21st, 2022, and according to Lima police, Bivens was arrested after he allegedly poured lighter fluid on his partner and lit the person on fire following a domestic dispute.

Officers were called to a residence at 708 Lima Avenue just before 10 a.m. Wednesday morning where they learned that 28-year-old Joseph Box had left in a vehicle. Officers soon spotted the red KIA Sportage and a pursuit ensued. It continued for nearly 12 miles at speeds up to 90 miles an hour. Box lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree at 314 North Main Street in Mount Blanchard. He exited the vehicle fleeing on foot and was caught a short time later. Box was arrested for failure to comply and domestic violence. He also was cited for driving under suspension.
