The United States and Iran have exchanged new strikes after a week in which President Donald Trump suggested that negotiations between them might be “over.” A renewed war would affect lives across the region, including in Israel and Lebanon, along with U.S. military personnel and mariners in the Strait of Hormuz. The war began on Feb. 28, when Israel and the U.S. attacked Iran, killing Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The strait is a current sticking point in talks as Iran asserts control over what was seen as an international waterway before the war.
