A Putnam County mother will be serving seven years in jail for the death of her 2-year-old son. 26-year-old Jessica McClure was sentenced after pleading guilty in July to one count of involuntary manslaughter charge and three counts of endangering children. McClure said during her plea hearing, that in November of 2018, she had put her boys down for a nap. The 2-year-old woke up at some point and found a box to crawl into on the floor, which had pills in it and swallowed them. The unresponsive toddler was taken to the ambulatory care center where he was pronounced dead.

On Friday, three days before her trial, 26-year-old Jessica McClure appeared in Putnam County Common Pleas Court to accept a negotiated plea. McClure pleaded guilty to all five of her charges: involuntary manslaughter, a felony count of endangering children and three misdemeanor counts of endangering children. Part of the deal includes that the sentence for each charge will run concurrent to one another. The maximum penalty for the first-degree felony of involuntary manslaughter is 11 years in prison.

A jury trial has been scheduled for July for a Fort Jennings woman accused of contributing to the death of her son. 

According to Putnam County Court Records, Judge Keith Schierloh set aside three days for the trial of 26 year old Jessica McClure.  McClure is facing one count of Involuntary Manslaughter and multiple counts of Child Endangering charges.  The Putnam County Sheriff's office says that the incident happened on November 7th 2018.

A Putnam County woman is facing multiple charges involving the death of her son in November of last year. According to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, 25-year-old Jessica McClure was indicted on one count on involuntary manslaughter and four counts of endangering children. The incident happened on November 7th, 2018, EMS and law enforcement were called out to a home in Fort Jennings for the report of an unresponsive child.
