Oden walked the mayor through the use of the APS system, which includes an audible tone and voice instruction when the button is pushed. The system lets pedestrians know whether it is safe to cross, which direction they are crossing, and when to wait. The crosswalks also include tactile brick pads, allowing individuals to feel when they are within the crosswalk zone.
The document includes a comprehensive list of transportation-related projects across Lima and Allen County. This year, a new interactive dashboard has been introduced to help residents learn more about the more than $10 million worth of projects scheduled in the region.
The Lima-Allen County Regional Planning Commission (LACRPC) has announced Rebecca Phillips as its new executive director. The vote was made official in a special board meeting with the organization’s executive committee on Feb. 20. Phillips’ new role became effective immediately following the vote.

As a way to help the Allen County community have more access to and understand the plan, which covers a range of reasons residents have difficulty finding fair housing, a brief overview of the plan will be presented at the Lima Public Library at 650 W. Market St. Lima, Ohio on Wednesday, May 29 at 3 p.m. in the auditorium. Hard copies of the plan and comment forms will be available.
