Governor Mike DeWine has pushed back a Lima man's execution date to 2021. 41-year-old Cleveland Jackson was scheduled to die by lethal injection in November of this year, but DeWine has given him a reprieve until January 13 2021. A complaint was made against the attorneys that represented Jackson, and DeWine says it was a serious allegation and needed to be resolved before the disciplinary process can move forward. Jackson was found guilty for the 2002 deaths of 17 year-old Leneshia Williams and 3 year-old Jayla Grant, who were killed during a robbery.

Governor Mike DeWine has pushed back Cleveland Jackson's execution date from May to November of this year. It's in response to a federal court order for the state to come up with a new execution protocol, after the judge's scathing critique of a sedative used in the current process.
