Raising money for a marathon is one thing, but Rod Carpenter took the initiative to run in his own marathon and raised tens of thousands of dollars for veterans, all while honoring a fallen police officer. 

It's a nonprofit organization working to provide homes for the men and women who have served our country and right now, the Lots for Soldiers program is working on its third home for a military family as a thank you for all they have done.

 Lots for Soldiers helps out military families by bringing the community together to build them a home on a donated residential lot, and it’s just a way to give back to those that have served or are serving now.

It's a win-win situation as a neighborhood eyesore comes tumbling down, and a new home will go up for a soldier.
