Wapakoneta continues to have a surging year and adding to that is a homegrown business reinvesting into the city. A year and two days after breaking ground, FlexArm FlexCNC opened their doors for an open house to their new state of the art facility. The company officially moved in July. Nick Kennedy’s grandfather founded the business in 1971, that is now a global manufacturer for tapping arms and large bed machining centers.

What started off as a random idea by a group of Shawnee neighbors to line their streets with flags, turned out to be a huge project that their neighbors say they are truly proud of. The Oakview Subdivision friends Nick Kennedy, Josh Young, and Jason Swinehart began working on the project at the end of May. Their goal was to get the flags up by the Fourth of July, but they were able to get the job done two weeks earlier. By then they had successfully put up 95 flags along the three streets of their subdivision. Kennedy says this project makes him proud because of the feedback he has received from his neighbors.
