The Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District is encouraging Rotarians to get outside this fall. The first day of fall is still nearly a month away, but Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District naturalist Dan Hodges says that even before the leaves start changing colors in October, the changes that come with fall have already started. Once the end of summer heat wave passes, the temperatures will be just right for a hike to go see the autumn wildflowers like goldenrod in bloom. Certain insects are also more active in the fall.
