Allen County road crews have been out on the road since the snow started to fly.
As winter approaches, the Ohio Department of Transportation is making sure its fleet is ready to tackle whatever the season brings.
Ross Vennekotter, Civil Engineer II for the City of Lima, said, “Warm weather… it does make the cooling of the asphalt take a little longer, a few more passes with the rollers, but it is pretty nice without having major rain events.”

SLABTOWN ROAD (Hillville Rd. - township line) will be CLOSED Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 7:30am to 2:00pm for chip seal.
The budget, which goes into effect on July 1, includes funding for critical transportation infrastructure projects across the state.
The City of Lima has announced that two major roads will have lane closures later this week for road work.
On February 27, 2025, Byal Avenue will be closed between Blaine Street and Greenwood Street for Metronet to perform repair work.
