The Allen County 9-11 Memorial takes a step closer to its goal with a donation from a Shawnee organization. The Shawnee Optimists made a donation of $5,500 to go towards the memorial. Ideally, the money will be used for a bench at the memorial that will be located next to the Shawnee Township Fire Department. The Optimists raised the money from fundraisers and personal donations. The foundation has raised $20,000 of the $400,000 goal.
