October 14, 2024, Press Release from the Armstrong Air & Space Museum: WAPAKONETA, OH— The Armstrong Air & Space Museum will be hosting astronomer and author Dean Regas for an exclusive presentation based on his popular book, 100 Things to See in the Night Sky, on Saturday, October 19, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. After the talk, the museum will be hosting a special outdoor viewing session from 7:00-11:00 pm. A celebrated astronomer, author, and former co-host of the hit PBS program Star Gazers, Regas will expand upon his expertise of the cosmos and show spectators basic tips and tricks to identifying stars, constellations, planets, and more in the night sky. “In terms of modern astronomy, Dean is one of the best,” says Armstrong Museum executive director Dante Centuori. “This will be a fantastic opportunity for the community to learn more about the night sky from one of the country’s leading experts.”

What will it take to survive on the Red Planet? Some kids in St. Marys have the answer. The St. Marys Community Library helped the students reach beyond our planet during a “Mars Survival Camp.” Thanks to PBS and the Ohio Department of Education, the students learned a little bit about our galaxy and traveling in it. While many nations and businesses have the dream of traveling to Mars, the kids broke out the Legos to design the perfect base camp for the trip.
