School may be out for the summer, but Elida Elementary is keeping kids engaged with their annual Summer Library Program. Wednesday was the first week of the 3-week program at Elida Elementary, where students K through 5 can participate in fun educational activities along with reading. The program has been going on for over 10 years and uses lots of hands-on activities and STEM projects to get kids excited about reading. Each week there is a theme, and this week was 'adventure awaits, as the kids made tote bags to learn about insects and nature, plus they made Lego karts to race.
