This afternoon in a press conference Urban Meyer announced he would be retiring from Ohio State.

The decision came down from Ohio State University after an investigation into what school officials knew about alleged abuse by an assistant coach.

A contract extension given to Ohio State Coach Urban Meyer in March could provide grounds for the university to fire him over the handling of a longtime assistant accused of domestic violence.
