A former Cleveland officer who fatally shot 12-year-old Tamir Rice has been fired from his new post as a ranger in West Virginia. It’s the fourth known time in seven years that Timothy Loehmann left a small department amid community backlash. The board says they fired Loehmann following an emergency meeting about him. Loehmann shot Rice over a decade ago while the boy was playing with a pellet gun outside a recreation center. Rice's shooting has sparked outcry about police treatment of Black people and systemic racism. Cleveland police fired Loehmann at the time.
