An Indiana man was killed in a crash between two semis in Van Wert County Wednesday night. According to the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 64-year-old Blane Williamson was killed in the crash that happened just after 6 p.m. Thursday night at the intersection of U.S. 30 and State Route 49.
December 8, 2024, Press Release from the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol: Ridge Township – On December 8, 2024, at approximately 2:08 P.M., troopers with the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol were dispatched to Mendon Road at State Road for a report of an injury crash. During the investigation, it was found that Jadyn R. Bullinger, age 20, of Van Wert, was operating a 2014 Chrysler 200 eastbound on State Road. Aireyona A. Thornsberry, age 19, of Van Wert, was operating a 2009 Nissan Moreno northbound on Mendon Road. Ms. Bullinger failed to yield to the stop sign at the State and Mendon intersection and continued eastbound into the intersection. Ms. Thornsberry struck the vehicle on the right side, and both vehicles came to a final rest on the right side of the roadway.

Saylor has been selected the 2024 Trooper of the Year at the Van Wert Post. Saylor serves as a Field Training Officer and has also been awarded the Patrol’s physical fitness and safe driving awards
